What started as a home order business in the 1970s and has transformed into a well known restaurant in Legazpi City.
Boklan, as she is known in the community started as a baking afficionado and became well known for her high quality home baked snack cakes and specialty cakes for birthdays and weddings.. She would continue improving her baking skills by attending baking courses in Metro Manila. As volume of orders increased, her six sons would help out to meet delivery commitments.
On February 17, 1993, her dream of setting up a food business store finally came true. The family opened its store serving simple home style dishes and specializes on "Merienda" food that also included the popular snack cakes. After 2 years in its first location, the business was moved to the nearby residence which was converted into a restaurant. As the number of customers grow, the restaurant underwent reconstruction and expansion to provide better dining experience and increased capacity to accommodate exclusive venue for private parties and events. A brandd new 2 level restaurant reopened in November 8, 2004.
Boklan Food Center offers best home cooked dishes and a warm atmosphere for families to enjoy sharing their meals together.
